If you’re buying a gift for your boyfriend or girlfriend and are thinking about getting them a watch, then you should get a really nice brand. Even if your girlfriend or boyfriend is not super brand conscious, it’s still important to get a quality watch brand. In some areas (think a plain white tee) brand is not a big deal and you are often paying for a name. But when it comes to watches, brands matter. And they don’t always have to be expensive. Casio and Timex, for instance, are the two top brands for people looking for sports watches and they are not expensive. Just ask any jogger, hiker, or swimmer who makes the best watch and odds are you will hear either Casio (the amazing G-Shock series) or Timex (the classic Ironman).

Even if your girlfriend of boyfriend has a watch, another watch is always useful. Watches are now just as much accessories as timepieces. TAG Heuer is a famous Swiss Watch company that was founded in 1860. They are available in the mid range–price wise. If you’re looking for quality, but don’t have thousands to spend on a Rolex or Brietling, then TAG or the next watch, Omega, are definitely the way to go.
Omega
Omega is a bit of a younger company than TAG. They were founded in 1903, but they are already one of the classic Swiss Watch brands. They make the iconic James Bond style watch, as well as a beautiful Seamaster. They are especially loved by celebs and politicians.
Swiss Army
If you don’t have the budget for the Omega or the TAG watches, then an actually Swiss Army watch is a great pick. Something such as Victorinox watch would be a perfect pick. These watches are not very expensive, but they are super nice and classy looking. Guys who don’t like really fancy watches, but are not fans of rubber sport watches such as G Shock or Timex Ironman brands, then they would love these.
Invicta
If you’re looking for a big face watch, something along the lines of a club watch, or just a big watch, then Invicta is the brand. They are a good brand, not Swiss, but the watches they make aren’t junk like so many large face watches are.
